LiDAR autonomous driving solution provider Vueron Technology has signed an agreement with Iljin Jeonggong, a specialized manufacturer of eco-friendly cold chain trucks, to jointly develop autonomous cold chain trucks.

The partnership will integrate Vueron Technology’s autonomous driving solutions into Iljin Jeonggong’s eco-friendly electric trucks, enabling autonomous delivery of fresh food products in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Vueron has gained significant attention for successfully obtaining autonomous driving licenses in both the U.S. and South Korea using only one LiDAR sensor. The company has been actively expanding its operations domestically and internationally after securing early seed funding from Naver D2SF and raising 10 billion KRW in pre-A funding from KDB Bank and others. At CES 2023, Vueron showcased its autonomous driving solution for eco-friendly cold chain trucks, further solidifying its reputation. The company expects to obtain an autonomous driving license for this project by February and begin full-scale pilot testing shortly after.

Iljin Jeonggong, a leading cold chain specialty vehicle manufacturer with over 30 years of experience, successfully developed and commercialized the world’s first electric cold chain truck, the “Iljin No-idle Electric Refrigerated Truck.” The company has sold more than 1,800 units of these eco-friendly trucks and continues to expand its product line, incorporating features such as refrigeration, freezing, defrosting, heating, and even mobile storage functions, catering to a wide range of consumer needs.

Moving forward, Iljin Jeonggong will focus on the development of specialized vehicles and energy storage systems (ESS) through pilot testing, while Vueron Technology will enhance its autonomous driving solutions.
