Possessing Autonomous Driving LiDAR Technology
On the 26th, Naver announced that autonomous driving startup Vueron Technology successfully raised 10 billion KRW in its Pre-Series A funding round.
New investors in the round include Daesung Startup Investment/HGI, KDB Bank, Timefolio, and Intervalue Partners, with continued follow-up investment from existing investor BonAngels Venture Partners.
Vueron, a startup specializing in LiDAR-based autonomous driving technology, had previously secured early-stage investments from both Naver and BonAngels. Notably, the company made history by obtaining a temporary self-driving license from the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport using just one LiDAR sensor. Vueron also successfully completed an autonomous driving test from Seoul to Busan without driver intervention.
The company is actively engaged in B2B ventures, supplying autonomous solutions for unmanned ships, forklifts, and delivery robots. Recently, Vueron has been working on expanding its presence in Japan through a partnership with NEXTY Electronics Group, a subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho.
Jaekwang Kim, CEO of Vueron, stated, “With this investment, we will accelerate the commercialization of our LiDAR solutions for autonomous driving. We also plan to establish a new branch in Munich, Germany, early this year.”
