By Hayoung Sun, Daily Car Reporter – South Korean autonomous driving startups StradVision and Vueron Technology are entering the global market.
StradVision, led by CEO Junhwan Kim, specializes in developing advanced AI-based camera recognition software for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving. On September 6th, the company announced its collaboration with Vueron Technology, headed by CEO Jaekwang Kim, a leader in LiDAR perception technology. Together, they have developed a unique “Sensor Fusion” technology, integrating multiple sensors to enhance autonomous driving capabilities.
StradVision and Vueron Technology have developed a highly advanced object recognition solution, improving precision compared to existing technologies. This new solution is based on StradVision’s AI-based camera recognition software, “SVNet,” and Vueron Technology’s LiDAR perception solution, “View.One.”
Through this collaboration, the two companies aim to provide a more competitive solution to the global automotive industry.
Sensor Fusion technology combines the ability of cameras to detect shapes and colors with the precision of LiDAR, which measures the distance to objects with millimeter-level accuracy. By integrating detailed object information from camera footage with the 3D point cloud generated by LiDAR sensors, the system significantly enhances environmental perception compared to single-sensor solutions.
This next-generation solution leverages the strengths of both cameras, which excel at object classification and lane detection, and LiDAR, which delivers precise object location and speed prediction. It is emerging as a key technology in the automotive industry, garnering continued attention.
Junhwan Kim, CEO of StradVision, commented, “This project holds significant meaning as it represents a collaboration between leading startups in Korea’s autonomous driving industry. Sensor Fusion is a groundbreaking technology that overcomes the limitations of current object recognition technologies, drawing great interest from the global automotive industry.”
Jaekwang Kim, CEO of Vueron Technology, added, “In the highly competitive global autonomous driving market, this collaboration between domestic startups with expertise in different areas will allow us to present more competitive technology and achieve meaningful results. Through this partnership, both companies will enhance their technologies to introduce a more advanced solution.”
Founded in 2014, StradVision has been recognized by the global automotive industry for its AI-based object recognition software, “SVNet.”
“SVNet” is an ultra-lightweight, high-efficiency solution that implements deep learning-based object recognition with minimal computational power and energy consumption. It offers over 30 different features and boasts high compatibility, supporting more than 14 different platforms.
