– Accurately identifying pedestrian numbers at event venues
– Detecting crowd movements and analyzing congestion levels
– Registered in Techmarket, opening doors for supply opportunities
On the 27th, Vueron Technology announced that it has registered its LiDAR-based technology in Techmarket and plans to exhibit it.
Last October, the company successfully implemented its LiDAR-based crowd detection system at the 2024 Gongju Baekje Culture Festival, in collaboration with LX (Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation).
LiDAR, a technology that uses laser detection and measurement, is commonly used in autonomous vehicles, robotics, and unmanned systems to assess their surroundings. At last year’s Gongju Baekje Culture Festival, which attracted more than 30,000 visitors per day, the importance of safety management was highlighted.
Vueron installed a total of six LiDAR units at four locations within the event venue to accurately count pedestrians and analyze congestion levels. This real-time monitoring of crowd movements helped identify potential risks in advance, contributing to accident prevention.
Techmarket connects innovative technologies from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with public institutions to support sales channels. A total of 108 public organizations, including LX, Korea Expressway Corporation, and Korea Land & Housing Corporation, participate in this initiative. Once a product is designated as an innovative product, public institutions can directly purchase it via private contracts for up to three years, regardless of price. With this registration, Vueron anticipates negotiations with multiple public agencies.
Vueron has previously successfully deployed its ‘Smart Infrastructure LiDAR’ solution in partnership with local governments such as Seoul’s Jongno, Seodaemun, and Gangdong districts. The company’s technological capabilities were recognized globally when it won an Innovation Award in the Smart City category at CES 2024.
CEO Kim Jae-kwang stated, “With our registration in Techmarket, we can now conduct business more easily with various government agencies. We plan to participate in multiple public projects to expand the LiDAR solutions market.”
