  • Smart Infrastructure LiDAR Solution becomes a key technology in smart cities
  • Strengthening reliability for market leadership in the smart infrastructure sector

GS certificate for lidarVueron Technology, a leading LiDAR solutions provider, announced on the 15th that its ‘Smart Infrastructure LiDAR Solution V1.0’ has been awarded the highest-level GS Certification (Grade 1) from the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL).

GS Certification, based on ISO international standards, is a national certification that rigorously evaluates software on aspects such as performance, reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability, portability, and interoperability. Vueron’s certification demonstrates the excellence of its infrastructure-based LiDAR solution.

Notably, products with GS Certification are eligible for direct contracts with procurement agencies, allowing public institutions to prioritize purchasing these certified products. Vueron’s solution is now positioned to gain further adoption in both public institutions and private sectors.

Vueron’s Smart Infrastructure LiDAR Solution uses 3D LiDAR sensors and AI to accurately detect and classify objects such as people, vehicles, and motorcycles, making it suitable for urban crowd and traffic analysis. The certification ensures that Vueron’s highly reliable solution will be widely used by public and private sectors alike.

According to Vueron, the solution provides real-time data for quick decision-making by operators, offering efficient selective monitoring. It is designed to prevent accidents by analyzing crowd density, particularly in crowded urban areas, and can address misidentifications that occur in low-light environments. The solution is also ideal for venues like airports, train stations, and shopping malls, where it can manage queue times and analyze foot traffic.

Additionally, the solution integrates with autonomous vehicles for real-time communication and data exchange between vehicles and road infrastructure, further enhancing traffic safety and efficiency. The technology offers real-time monitoring to detect potential risks in urban environments.

Jae Kwang Kim, CEO of Vueron Technology, stated, “The GS Certification affirms our technological prowess and positions us as leaders in the LiDAR-based infrastructure market. It will help us actively expand into public procurement and unlock new opportunities across various industries.”

He further added, “In addition to our autonomous driving solutions, Vueron’s Smart Infrastructure LiDAR Solution is playing a key role in developing intelligent transportation systems and traffic control systems, contributing to the creation of smart cities.”

The Smart Infrastructure LiDAR Solution is applicable not only to smart cities but also in various industries such as autonomous vehicles, integrated traffic systems, airports, shopping malls, and train stations, with its range of applications expected to expand.

Recently, Vueron raised 22 billion KRW (approx. $16.5 million) in Series A funding from investors including Shinhan Venture Investment, TS Investment, IBK Industrial Bank, and others, bringing their total accumulated investment to 33 billion KRW (approx. $25 million).
